Long time resident Rob Cameron shows a thumbs up on his very successful downsizing household sale - with the proceeds donated to PHC Food Programs!
At some point in life we begin to simplify our lives, reducing the amount of our stuff, the size of our stuff and often moving to a smaller space. Long time Gabriola resident Rob Cameron recently found himself at this point. Rob had several beautiful items that still had significant value so he held a silent auction and successfully found new homes for most of the items.
"People saw the value of the items, but they also knew that the proceeds were going to support the Food Programs at People for a Healthy Community (PHC), so everything went at a good price. I'm happy to say we raised $6,282 for local food programs." Rob reports.
Brenda Fowler, Executive Director at PHC commented, "This kind of generosity is part of a larger trend coming out of the pandemic and the current state of the world. People like Rob want to make a difference and I expect we will see more of these acts of kindness."
Anyone wanting to follow Rob's lead or has another fundraising idea can phone Brenda at 250 247 7311 or contact PHC by visiting our website at phcgabriola.org
