Food & Toy Drive

Supporting Gabriola residents during the holidays.

The annual Food & Toy Drive, organized by the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department, brings the community together to support local families during the holiday season. Donations of non-perishable food and new, unwrapped toys are collected and provided to People for a Healthy Community (PHC) to distribute to families who need extra support.

Join the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department for a festive Christmas convoy starting at 4:30 p.m. Gather at one of the island’s designated locations to watch the fire trucks go by and support local families.

Drop off non-perishable food items or new, unwrapped toys in the marked collection totes, available throughout the day on Saturday. Check the list below for the most-wanted toys to help you choose a gift.

How does it work?

Toy donations: Community members donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts.
Island-wide collection: Clearly marked donation totes are placed at designated locations around Gabriola.
Fire truck convoy: Festively decorated fire trucks travel around the island as part of the annual collection event.
Distribution: PHC distributes donated toys to local families through its holiday support programs.

How does it connect with PHC's holiday programs?

The Toy Drive helps PHC provide gifts to children in the community as part of its broader holiday support. It complements the Holiday Bureau, which helps Gabriola residents access additional support during the holiday season.
