Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon
People for a Healthy Community and the Gabriola Agi Co-op are once again partnering to bring the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon program (FMNCP) to Gabriola. The FMNCP is a healthy eating initiative that supports Farmers’ Markets and strengthens food security across British Columbia.
Coupons can be spent at all BCAFM member Farmers’ Markets that participate in the FMNCP, and can be used to purchase vegetables, plant starts, and some additional food items within criteria. The program will run from June - September 2024. This year every participating household will receive 4 sheets of coupons a month. Each sheet of coupons is worth 27$, for a total of 108$ a month.
NOTE: The coupons cannot be used at farm stands and the online market is no longer running, so you must be able to use the coupons at the Saturday market or the Wednesday Night Market to be eligible for this program.
Space is limited for this program - Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
